Day: 1

A. Free Play (Mix Group) (Total Time 15 Min.)

Children will play outdoors. Teacher will monitor and observe their activities and play. It will be indoor play time in case of rainy season or any other circumstances. Teacher will not guide them with what to play with and how to play. She will take care of safety and causations. She can ask to make a line or wait for turn to come.

B. Circle Time (Whole Group) (Total Time 15 Min.)

Teacher will discuss the things she liked today morning.
I liked watering my plants today morning. I liked this colourful dress of mine which I am wearing today.
I liked the jogging I did today morning before coming to school.
Then she will ask a few questions to the children.
What did they like yesterday?

What they liked today in the morning before coming to school?
What they like in school?
What would they like to do in school today?
Which colours do they like? Which colour dress do they like to wear?

Children can share about the activities they liked today or did before coming to school or after coming to school.

C. Rhyme Time and M &M (Whole Group) (Total Time 15 Min.)

Rhyme: I am special

Allow children to look into the mirror, make faces, and sing. To make them feel special and make them understand to love oneself.  (Teacher will illustrate first with mirror)
They will take it one by one and pass it to another member. Like this they will look at themselves, make faces and keep on passing while singing the rhyme.

D. Story Time (Total Time 10 min.)

She will ask questions by showing the cover page.

      1.  What do you see in the picture?

      2.  What do you think the story is about?

     3.  What is the girl doing in the picture?

     4.  Which colour dress is she wearing?

     5.  Does she look happy? Why?

     6.  Reflection question:  What would you do when you feel happy?

E. Library (Total Time 20 min.)

Teacher Guided Reading and Practice writing
Teacher will show the pictures related to

theme – I like to: play, ball, drum, water plants, ride a bicycle, fly a kite, feed a dog, goat, draw, the sun, laugh

language (sound ‘s’ words from Head Corner worksheets 30, 31, 32).

Children will trace ‘the sun’ in Practice Book.

F. Lunch/food Time (Total Time 30 Min.)

ʘ Washroom / Toilet habits / Hand wash and Prayer before eating (10 Min.) ʘ Meal time and hand wash after eating (20 Min.)

G. Instruction Time (Whole Group) (Total Time 15 min.)

Activity: Colours I see around

Teacher will share about the different colours we see around us. (With real life examples of fruits, vegetables, flowers)
She will also talk about which colours they sees in the class today?
Children will start observing the different things around them and share the colours of it.
Example: bags, bottles, chairs, tables, books, painted walls in the classroom and will reply with those colours they see respectively.
E.g. – blue bag, red bottle, pink pen, yellow and green chairs, etc.
She can also question in different ways.
Whose bottle is of green colour? Who has a red lunchbox?
E.g. – I have a red lunch box. My water bottle is green colour.

Teacher can give some examples Like: I have a blue mug to drink my tea. I saw a yellow butterfly in the morning on my plant on the balcony.
She will ask a question to observe her dress and ask – Which colour dress is she wearing today?
She will also ask them to observe other colours they can see in the dress.
She will ask them about the plants they see daily, so what are the colours you see in it?

Which fruits you see in workbook and what is the colour of different fruits?

H. Corner Time (Small Group) Heart Corner + Hand Corner = 30 min / Head Corner + Self-Learning Corner = 30 min (Total Time 60 min.)

Teacher will show and explain the worksheet / activity which they will do it independently.

Activity: Broken telephone game

Teacher will make children sit in a circle.
She will whisper a word with ‘s’ sound such as the name of a student with letter ‘s’ e.g., ‘Siya’
Words like – song, sweets, snake, sun, star, squirrel, sky, straw, sofa, spoon, socks etc.
She will repeat the word and will speak it slowly in 1st child’s ear. They will keep on passing as a whisper game.
Now the last child will repeat and say it aloud.

If time permits – Teacher will repeat with some other words that start will letter ‘s’
